Filled with the Holy Ghost:

(2 Tim 3:16 KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Tim 3:17 KJV) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Easton's Bible Dictionary has these definitions for "spirit" and "Holy Ghost":

Spirit - (Heb. ruah; Gr. pneuma), properly wind or breath. In 2 Thess. 2:8 it means "breath," and in Eccl. 8:8 the vital principle in man. It also denotes the rational, immortal soul by which man is distinguished (Acts 7:59; 1 Cor. 5:5; 6:20; 7:34), and the soul in its separate state (Heb. 12:23), and hence also an apparition (Job 4:15; Luke 24:37, 39), an angel (Heb. 1:14), and a demon (Luke 4:36; 10:20). This word is used also metaphorically as denoting a tendency (Zech. 12:10; Luke 13:11).

In Rom. 1:4, 1 Tim. 3:16, 2 Cor. 3:17, 1 Pet. 3:18, it designates the divine nature.

Holy Ghost - the third Person of the adorable Trinity.

His personality is proved (1) from the fact that the attributes of personality, as intelligence and volition, are ascribed to him (John 14:17, 26; 15:26; 1 Cor. 2:10, 11; 12:11). He reproves, helps, glorifies, intercedes (John 16:7-13; Rom. 8:26). (2) He executes the offices peculiar only to a person. The very nature of these offices involves personal distinction (Luke 12:12; Acts 5:32; 15:28; 16:6; 28:25; 1 Cor. 2:13; Heb. 2:4; 3:7; 2 Pet. 1:21).

His divinity is established (1) from the fact that the names of God are ascribed to him (Ex. 17:7; Ps. 95:7; comp. Heb. 3:7-11); and (2) that divine attributes are also ascribed to him, omnipresence (Ps. 139:7; Eph. 2:17, 18; 1 Cor. 12:13); omniscience (1 Cor. 2:10, 11); omnipotence (Luke 1:35; Rom. 8:11); eternity (Heb. 9:4). (3) Creation is ascribed to him (Gen. 1:2; Job 26:13; Ps. 104:30), and the working of miracles (Matt. 12:28; 1 Cor. 12:9-11). (4) Worship is required and ascribed to him (Isa. 6:3; Acts 28:25; Rom. 9:1; Rev. 1:4; Matt. 28:19).

But, the main purpose of this web page is to explore the meanings and events surrounding a person who was filled with, or full of the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit, etc. Using the KJV, as we usually do, we find that those individuals who were filled with the Holy Ghost were primarily empowered to speak the Word of God, prophesy, preach, declare, etc., not just to speak in an unknown tongue. Please read on for many examples. What immediately follows are many examples of how the Holy Ghost gave power to speak, all directly from the King James Version. (Rom 1:4 KJV)  And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

(Rom 1:9 KJV)  For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

(Rom 2:29 KJV)  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

(Rom 7:6 KJV)  But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

(Rom 8:1 KJV)  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(Rom 8:2 KJV)  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

(Rom 8:4 KJV)  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(Rom 8:5 KJV)  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

(Rom 8:23 KJV)  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

(Rom 8:26 KJV)  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

(Rom 8:27 KJV)  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

(Rom 12:11 KJV)  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

(Rom 15:19 KJV)  Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

(Rom 15:30 KJV)  Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

(1 Cor 2:4 KJV)  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

(1 Cor 2:10 KJV)  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

(1 Cor 2:11 KJV)  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

(1 Cor 2:12 KJV)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

(1 Cor 2:14 KJV)  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

(1 Cor 3:16 KJV)  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

(1 Cor 4:21 KJV)  What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

(1 Cor 5:3 KJV)  For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

(1 Cor 5:4 KJV)  In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

(1 Cor 5:5 KJV)  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

(1 Cor 6:11 KJV)  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

(1 Cor 6:17 KJV)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

(1 Cor 6:20 KJV)  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

(1 Cor 7:34 KJV)  There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

(1 Cor 7:40 KJV)  But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

(1 Cor 12:3 KJV)  Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

(1 Cor 12:4 KJV)  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

(1 Cor 12:7 KJV)  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

(1 Cor 12:8 KJV)  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

(1 Cor 12:9 KJV)  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

(1 Cor 12:11 KJV)  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

(1 Cor 12:13 KJV)  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

(1 Cor 14:2 KJV)  For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

(1 Cor 14:14 KJV)  For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

(1 Cor 14:15 KJV)  What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

(1 Cor 14:16 KJV)  Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

(1 Cor 15:45 KJV)  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

(1 Cor 16:18 KJV)  For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

(2 Cor 1:22 KJV)  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

(2 Cor 2:13 KJV)  I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

(2 Cor 3:3 KJV)  Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

(2 Cor 3:6 KJV)  Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

(2 Cor 3:8 KJV)  How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

(2 Cor 3:17 KJV)  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

(2 Cor 3:18 KJV)  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

(2 Cor 4:13 KJV)  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

(2 Cor 5:5 KJV)  Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

(2 Cor 7:1 KJV)  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

(2 Cor 7:13 KJV)  Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

(2 Cor 11:4 KJV)  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

(2 Cor 12:18 KJV)  I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

(Gal 3:2 KJV)  This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

(Gal 3:3 KJV)  Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

(Gal 3:5 KJV)  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

(Gal 3:14 KJV)  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

(Gal 4:6 KJV)  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

(Gal 4:29 KJV)  But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

(Gal 5:5 KJV)  For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

(Gal 5:16 KJV)  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

(Gal 5:17 KJV)  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

(Gal 5:18 KJV)  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

(Gal 5:22 KJV)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

(Gal 5:25 KJV)  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

(Gal 6:1 KJV)  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

(Gal 6:8 KJV)  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

(Gal 6:18 KJV)  Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

(Eph 1:13 KJV)  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(Eph 1:17 KJV)  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

(Eph 2:2 KJV)  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

(Eph 2:18 KJV)  For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

(Eph 2:22 KJV)  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

(Eph 3:5 KJV)  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

(Eph 3:16 KJV)  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

(Eph 4:3 KJV)  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

(Eph 4:4 KJV)  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

(Eph 4:23 KJV)  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

(Eph 4:30 KJV)  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

(Eph 5:9 KJV)  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

(Eph 5:18 KJV)  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

(Eph 6:17 KJV)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

(Eph 6:18 KJV)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

(Phil 1:19 KJV)  For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

(Phil 1:27 KJV)  Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

(Phil 2:1 KJV)  If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

(Phil 3:3 KJV)  For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

(Col 1:8 KJV)  Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

(Col 2:5 KJV)  For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

(2 Th 2:8 KJV)  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

(2 Th 2:13 KJV)  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

(1 Tim 3:16 KJV)  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

(1 Tim 4:1 KJV)  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

(1 Tim 4:12 KJV)  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

(2 Tim 1:7 KJV)  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(Phile 1:25 KJV)  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

(Heb 4:12 KJV)  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(Heb 9:14 KJV)  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

(Heb 10:29 KJV)  Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

(James 2:26 KJV)  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

(1 John 4:1 KJV)  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

(1 John 4:2 KJV)  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

(1 John 4:3 KJV)  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

(1 John 4:6 KJV)  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

(Rev 2:11 KJV)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

(Rev 2:17 KJV)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

(Rev 2:29 KJV)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

(Rev 3:6 KJV)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

(Rev 3:13 KJV)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

My conclusion from this study of the KJV is that the the individual who is filled with the Holy Ghost is filled for a time and a purpose. And I have found that all of those who were filled with the Holy Ghost spoke something. But, the Holy Spirit also empowers the individual with some certain gift or ministry, which may or may not be a speaking gift. However, we, as Christians are to maintain, or continue to stay full of the Holy Ghost, to pray and sing in the Spirit, etc. This most wonderful thing of praying or singing in the Spirit, (often in an unknown tongue) brings our spirit and the Holy Spirit into a most wonderful communion, and edifies our soul. And in this case,  the purpose of being filled and speaking aloud in an unknown tongue is mainly self edification, by what I like to think of as a secured link, that's a direct incorrupible link to God.

Here is where the doctrinal disputes begin, even within the Body. Many Pentecostal churches believe that the initial time of a person being filled with the Holy Ghost, with speaking in tongues is the one time filling of an individual, and that the individual is then Spirit-filled for life. I do not, because the Bible leads me in to see that we must continually keep ourselves filled with the Spirit. That and the fact that I have seen a good many "Spirit-filled Christians" fall away, sadly enough, leads me to believe that we are responsible to remain filled, by our own choice. But, plainly enough, the Bible simply does not say that if we are once filled, we are always filled.

(Eph 5:17 KJV)  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

(Eph 5:18 KJV)  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

(Eph 5:19 KJV)  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

(Eph 5:20 KJV)  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

(Eph 5:21 KJV)  Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Other Pentecostal churches believe that the speaking in tongues is the one and only sure fire evidence of a person being filled with the Holy Ghost. Still others say that if a person does not speak in tongues then they are not even saved and therefore not going to Heaven. Let me say that none of this can be confirmed or proven by Scripture, except by a far stretch of the imagination combined with selective Scripture manipulation. Other non-Pentecostal Churches claim that speaking in tongues is the language of the devil, based very liberally upon one Scripture verse taken out of context:

(1 Cor 13:8 KJV)  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Now, here is the same verse above, in context:

(1 Cor 12:27 KJV)  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

(1 Cor 12:28 KJV)  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

(1 Cor 12:29 KJV)  Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

(1 Cor 12:30 KJV)  Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

(1 Cor 12:31 KJV)  But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

(1 Cor 13:1 KJV)  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

(1 Cor 13:2 KJV)  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

(1 Cor 13:3 KJV)  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

(1 Cor 13:4 KJV)  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

(1 Cor 13:5 KJV)  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

(1 Cor 13:6 KJV)  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

(1 Cor 13:7 KJV)  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

(1 Cor 13:8 KJV)  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

(1 Cor 13:9 KJV)  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

(1 Cor 13:10 KJV)  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

(1 Cor 13:11 KJV)  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

(1 Cor 13:12 KJV)  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

(1 Cor 13:13 KJV)  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

(1 Cor 14:1 KJV)  Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

(1 Cor 14:2 KJV)  For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

(1 Cor 14:3 KJV)  But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

(1 Cor 14:4 KJV)  He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

(1 Cor 14:5 KJV)  I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

(1 Cor 14:6 KJV)  Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

(1 Cor 14:7 KJV)  And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

(1 Cor 14:8 KJV)  For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

(1 Cor 14:9 KJV)  So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

(1 Cor 14:10 KJV)  There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

(1 Cor 14:11 KJV)  Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

(1 Cor 14:12 KJV)  Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

(1 Cor 14:13 KJV)  Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

(1 Cor 14:17 KJV)  For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

(1 Cor 14:18 KJV)  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

(1 Cor 14:19 KJV)  Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

(1 Cor 14:20 KJV)  Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

(1 Cor 14:21 KJV)  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

(1 Cor 14:22 KJV)  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

(1 Cor 14:23 KJV)  If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

(1 Cor 14:24 KJV)  But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

(1 Cor 14:25 KJV)  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

(1 Cor 14:26 KJV)  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

(1 Cor 14:27 KJV)  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

(1 Cor 14:28 KJV)  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

(1 Cor 14:29 KJV)  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

(1 Cor 14:30 KJV)  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

(1 Cor 14:31 KJV)  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

(1 Cor 14:32 KJV)  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

(1 Cor 14:33 KJV)  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Paul was writing this to a "Spirit-filled" Church. His letters are an encouragement to us all, in the Body. Let us not get involved in doctrinal disputes, but instead, encourage one another, as Paul did and still does. Tongues have not ceased yet, neither has the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. And we will try to worship Him as much as He deserves it.

(Rev 22:12 KJV)  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

(Rev 22:13 KJV)  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

(Rev 22:14 KJV)  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

(Rev 22:15 KJV)  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

(Rev 22:16 KJV)  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

(Rev 22:17 KJV)  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

(Rev 22:18 KJV)  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

(Rev 22:19 KJV)  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

(Rev 22:20 KJV)  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

(Rev 22:21 KJV)  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
